Monday Prayer

Bing :

Merciful God, we come to you in thanksgiving for our nation.

We know that our many blessings — of freedom, liberty, prosperity, and other gifts too countless to list — have come from your hand.

Our nation, and its many freedoms, are a gift from you.

On this day, as we remember our nation’s independence, we pause to honor you, to praise you and to thank you.

Heavenly Father, we pray that you would forgive us our sins, and lead us, as a nation, in the way we should go.

Let us not take for granted the many gifts and blessings you have given us. May we always honor you.

Be with us, Lord, as we strive to be a light and a beacon from you, to the world.

In Jesus holy name, we pray.

Blessed be Your name

When the sun’s shining down on me

When the world’s ‘all as it should be’

Blessed be Your name.

Blessed be Your name

On the road marked with suffering

Though there’s pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name.

Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father be with you and disturb and trouble you, and set before you an impossible task and dare you to do it;

until in your desperation you fall on your knees and remain there until he fills you with his power which alone will enable you to do it;

and then . . . but only then, may the Lord grant you his peace.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.

Trusting in your goodness and great mercy, Lord, I come:

sick – I come to my Saviour;

hungry and thirsty – to the well of Life;

needy – to the King of Heaven.

God, be my resting place and my protection in hours of trouble, defeat, and dejection.

May I never give way to self-pity and sorrow, May I always be sure of a better tomorrow.

May I stand undaunted, come what may, Secure in the knowledge I have only to pray

And ask my Creator and Father above to keep me serene in His grace and His love.

Monday Prayer

God, open my eyes so I may see and feel Your presence close to me.

Give me strength for my stumbling feet as I battle the crowd on life’s busy street,

And widen the vision of my unseeing eyes so in passing faces I’ll recognize

Not just a stranger, unloved and unknown, but a friend with a heart that is much like my own.

Give me perception to make me aware that scattered profuse on life’s thoroughfare

Are the best gifts of God that we daily pass by as we look at the world with an unseeing eye.

Father and lover of life, You know the depths of my innermost self, and You understand me.

You protect me on every side, shielding me from all harm.

When You put me together in my mother’s womb, You knew all about me.

I thank You for the wonder of myself, and I stand in awe at all that You have made.

As You know and love me, so may I come to know and love You.

Guide me in your ways.

~ Psalm 139
